Thread Lifts by APTOS Methods

Thread lifting is a term that encompasses various techniques, much like laser treatments, radiofrequency (RF), and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). Aptos thread lifting refers explicitly to the unique methods developed by Aptos for this procedure. It is essential to understand that while Aptos thread lifting offers lifting effects, it is not a substitute for a surgical facelift, nor should it be solely categorised as a non-surgical facelift. Instead, it should be regarded as a bioregenerative treatment that involves the manual lifting and repositioning of both skin and soft tissues for rejuvenation.

As we age, our facial skin changes, losing its smoothness and firmness due to factors like sun exposure, gravity, and daily expressions. The natural decline in collagen and elastin leads to dryness, thinning, and decreased elasticity, resulting in deep creases between the nose and mouth, a less defined jawline, and sagging neck skin that softens the contours of the face.

Among the various options, suspension thread lifting using the Aptos method has gained recognition for its reliability and effectiveness. It is a non-surgical, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure characterised by the assisted lifting technique. Practitioners manually lift and reposition sagging skin and subcutaneous fat to achieve a more youthful appearance. Specialised threads made from biocompatible materials are strategically implanted to suspend and temporarily hold the lifted tissue in place, promoting bioregeneration and collagen production. This process not only aids in skin tightening but also helps maintain the lifting effect over time. Typically performed under local anesthesia, the procedure typically takes less than an hour.

The absorbable materials used in Aptos threads gradually dissolve over 1.5 to 2 years, all while promoting the body’s collagen production. They maintain their holding strength for about six months, allowing sufficient time for the body to generate enough collagen to sustain the aesthetic outcomes.

The effectiveness of this treatment largely depends on an individual's ability to produce collagen. Generally, younger and healthier individuals tend to see better results. Nutrition and lifestyle factors also play a significant role in the effectiveness. Ideal candidates are typically aged between 35 and 55. Research indicates that around 70% of patients can expect the lifting effect to last 1 to 2 years, with the results often more durable in the midface than in the lower face, where muscle activity can have an impact.

The benefits of bioregeneration extend beyond the initial treatment session. Histological studies show that after the threads dissolve, they leave behind a collagen scaffold that continues to support the skin as it ages. The biostimulation provided by Aptos threads enhances skin firmness, elasticity, tone, texture, colour, and hydration.

Dr. Ho is committed to providing low-risk, effective, and minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedures for patients.

He utilises the Aptos thread lifting techniques for the following reasons:

  1. Minimally Invasive: This procedure circumvents the need for incisions or cuts, resulting in reduced recovery time.
  2. Immediate Results: Patients commonly experience an instantaneous lift, attributed to the manual repositioning conducted by the practitioner during the treatment.
  3. Duration of Effect: The threads resorb in the body within 1.5 to 2 years. The support provided by the threads can endure for an extended duration, as the formation of new collagen integrates with the existing tissue.
  4. Aesthetic Improvement: The progressive increase in collagen ensures that the enhancements appear rejuvenated and age-appropriate, thereby improving overall aesthetics.

Considerations:

  1. Maintenance: Results vary among individuals, so regular follow-up treatments may be necessary for optimal and lasting outcomes.
  2. As with any cosmetic procedure, it is essential to have a thorough understanding and seek expert guidance to ensure the best results. In our practice, a consultation with Dr. Hugo Ho is critical to determining whether Aptos thread lifting is the right choice for you.

APTOS thread lifts can treat many areas, from smoothing horizontal and vertical forehead wrinkles to lifting the brow and outer eyebrow area and restoring volume to sagging cheeks. They can also smooth lines around the mouth, tighten sagging skin under the lower jaw, and lift and rejuvenate various body parts.

Aptos threads have a further advantage by having different systems and methods to enhance any part of your body. Not everyone is the same, so why would the methods available be the same?

Cost of Aptos Thread Lifting

Aptos thread lifting provides up to 30 different types of threads and over 50 methods of application. The cost of thread correction or Aptos lifting depends upon the type of thread, the method used, and the number of manipulations planned. Therefore, it is essential to be evaluated by an Aptos-certified doctor to determine correction zones and the scope of work before the final cost is formed. As an Accredited Trainer for Aptos Thread Lifting methods, Dr Ho can create a personalised plan to help you reach your aesthetic goals.

Consultation

It is vital to have a consultation before the procedure. The best candidates for thread lifting are aged 35 to 55 and have relatively good skin tone with a bit of sagging. However, surgery may be the best option if there is too much loose skin.

There is a wide range of Aptos threads available for various parts of the face and body.

Thread lifting can be combined with volume replacement treatments, anti-ageing treatments and energy-based devices such as High-Intensity Focus Ultrasound and Laser to achieve enhanced results.
